The next KPLUG meeting is this Thursday, 12 Sept 2013. It will be held
at the University City Center 6256 Greenwich Dr. San Diego, CA 92122
starting at 7pm.
Robert Donovan will be giving a talk on Linux for multimedia and amateur
film making.

The applications demonstrated will include Audacity, Blender,
FFmpeg/avconv, KdenLive, and LMMS. Green screening and basic compositing
for video editing will be demonstrated as well as animation and
fluid/particle simulations if time permits. For those who want to follow
along on the Blender demonstrations, a three-button mouse(ideally, with
a scroll wheel) is strongly recommended.

Robert is a long-time Linux enthusiast who has used Linux as his primary
OS since 1999 and owner of Tradecraft systems, a network consulting firm
that promotes Linux in education and business.

-------------

I've already seen a little bit of what he is going to present and it's
some pretty amazing stuff. If any of you have seen the short film "Big
Buck Bunny" it was done in Blender.

This will be a great presentation for anyone with an artistic
inclination wanting to use a computer for their work.
